An example of fine art by anne tcherepnin

Anne grew up in Massachusetts and received her formal instruction at Skidmore College, Art Students League of New York, and California College of Arts and Crafts.  After her marriage to Ivan Tcherepnin in 1968 she continued to draw and paint while raising 4 children.
Surrounded by music and art (her husband was a composer and taught music at Harvard), Anne continued to take classes at The Museum School.  She studied books by Robert Henri, Edgar Payne, John F. Carlson, Hawthorne, and the Russian Impressionists.  She visited museums and galleries and surfed the Internet.  She took workshops with Donald Demers, Ken Auster and David Crosby, and it was from these artists that she developed an appreciation for painting outdoors, from life.  Anne studied for many years with Judith Austin who gave her encouragement and provided a creative environment full of challenges.
Anne currently lives on Cape Cod where the natural light and changing seasons are a painter's dream.  Riding her beloved horse through the woods and fields, across the marshes and beaches of the cape provide infinite inspiration for her paintings.  In the winter she arranges still life in her studio and experiments with the light falling on the objects.  Having children that live in Boston and New York, cityscapes have become a favorite theme.
