"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way...things I had no words for."  Georgia O'Keeffe
My objective in painting is to capture the essence of my subject as simply possible, to paint how the subject feels to me.   I am inspired every day by fleeting moments of family life, the shifting colors of the landscape and all the beauty in the ordinary.
As a young girl I dreamed of being an artist.  I studied fashion in college and after graduation began a 14 year corporate career.   I started painting on a regular basis while staying home with my preschool-aged children.  When I sold my first few paintings (by accident!....there's a story there) I felt a strong call to do the thing I thought I couldn't do.  I took a leap of faith and went back to school full time for 3 years at The Atelier (formerly Atelier Lack) in Minneapolis; and followed that with 2 years of workshop and studio study with several great artists I admire.  I am only now beginning to hear the whisper of my own painting voice and gain the courage to express and share it.
I spend my days painting in my Minnesota based studio, where every day covered in paint is a blessing.
