My paintings stem from traumatic events that have shaped my identity as a woman regaining my power. My work turns deeply psychological as I work through them and understand the work's meaning. By projecting my own experiences into my paintings, they become a personal source of expression which has allowed me to transform my trauma into a form of healing and self-empowerment.
Alyssa Fields (b. 1992)  is a representational oil painter who uses expressive brushstrokes and color to reveal her current states of being. Her expressive style and use of color supports the figures and still-life within her work. The figures and still-life that are used contain symbolism that helps support her narrative. She has been in multiple group exhibitions throughout Southern California including Laguna Museum of Art and Brea Gallery. Born in Oklahoma, Alyssa holds an MFA from Laguna College of Art and Design. She currently resides in Laguna Beach, California.
