An example of fine art by Alison McCauley

There are many reasons why I choose to paint. One is for the love of simply observing the beauty of all that God has made and creating a microcosm from that experience.
My works are typically representational and depict common life encounters.  My subjects include portrait based works, landscapes and scenes of everyday life. My objective is to draw the viewer into a visual experience that is personal yet fixed in a time and place that is perhaps reminiscent of a fond experience or an unrealized dream.
Many of my images have a strong sense of place and reflect the years of my life spent in the Carolinas. Scenes from Raleigh and Charleston, Wrightsville and Huntington beaches, and favorite vacation spots like Black Mountain are typically found in my portfolio along with beautiful views of my previous home in West Virginia. Because of their richness, oils are my usual medium of choice.
Claywork has been a part of my life since college and I have included a few pieces in my collection of works. These are one of a kind. I am not taking clay commissions at this time but would be happy to consider commissions for paintings.
