Artist Alexander Ficarro

An example of fine art by Alexander Ficarro

Photo of Alexander Ficarro

La Campanella della Firenze referred to him as "...Il Paganini moderno della penna nerra." Having classically trained in Florence in traditional portraiture, Alexander Ficarro worked with several mediums such as charcoal, pencil, oils, on paper, wood, and canvas, before finally graduating to his current original style of pen and ink. Adopting and adapting an ominous surrealist jaunt in each stroke, scratch, blot and mark, Ficarro attempts to confront his audience with the inner depth of the human conscious: where beauty and decay converge and diverge, in an interplay between C. Jung and H. Rorschach, to give birth to an inspiring and inquiring canvas which beckons its viewer to ask, "whats my relationship with what I am witnessing?"
