Thanks for checking out my website. I am an oil painter – I really enjoy the challenge of trying to capture the beauty of the real world with paint. The love of beauty and the natural world is why I like to focus on landscapes, but it is really the love of beauty that is why I like to paint.
I like oil paints – they have a long history, they are forgiving and I love the richness and depth that you can achieve with this medium. I have been painting and drawing for many years and have enjoyed and suffered the successes and struggles that I think most people experience who try to master a difficult craft. For me, it is definitely the enjoyment of the “art journey” that I find satisfying and keeps me going.
I have taken many workshops with some great teachers – Scott Christensen, Ned Mueller, Matt Smith – and I continue to take drawing classes to help me to continually improve my skills, and recently completed the Drawing Program at the Watt Atelier of the Arts.
Some of the shows that I have participated in include:

2017-2018, 2020 High Desert Museum - Art in the West Exhibition
2015-2017 Umpqua Plein Air Event
2015 Redmond Airport – Clouds
2015 Redmond Airport – Places and Process: Exploration of Landscape
2015 Smith Rock Paint Out
Spring 2015, St. Charles Bend Arts in the Hospital
2014 Hillsboro Plein Air Plus
2008 Pacific Northwest Plein Air Painting Competition and Exhibition
2007 Beaverton Showcase Art Show
