An example of fine art by Ann Gores

Photo of Ann Gores

Ann Pacelli Gores was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois in a family surrounded by art and architecture.  Ann's father was an architect and her mother was an avid lover of art and opera.  It's no wonder Ann developed a strong desire to follow her passion for art after a woman artist from New York came to teach painting at St. Marys College, Notre Dame, Indiana.   After she graduated with a BA degree in Art and Education minor, Ann taught art in elementary school, attended interior design school and pursued oil painting in Seattle, Washington.  In Seattle, she discovered painting instructors trained by Sergei Bongart, a renown Russian Impressionist style artist.  Still to this day, Ann continues to learn and be inspired by many of Bongart's proteges and other wonderfully gifted artists.  After many years of studying still life and figure painting, Ann discovered the joys and challenges of plein air painting.  Taking her pochade box to many distant locations, such as France, Italy, Greece, and the Grand Canyon, Ann found inspiration in nature and the great outdoors.  Frequent excursions to museums and galleries all over the world continue the never-ending process of developing and refining her artistic talent.

Ann has painted many consignments and taught adult drawing classes in her studio and at a private club.
Ann has her studio in Seattle, Washington, called Bayview Studio and Gallery.  She is represented by Amsterdam Whitney Gallery, Chelsea, NYC.
