Ruth’s sensitive portrayal of the human spirit and ability to capture motion and emotion comes from a desire to depict experiences and relationships in life.
“All of my paintings tell a story….I love that!  The human form is primarily the theme of my work and mood is the most important element.”  Ruth’s rich and highly saturated colors and loose brushwork impart energy to her paintings.
“I was born and raised in Oklahoma and moved to Colorado in 1999.”  Ruth is mainly self-taught, but studied art at Northern Oklahoma College.  She has studied under the tutelage of Rene Hart, and attended workshops with the renowned David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw and Jacqueline Kamin. She has also attended the Loveland Academy of Fine Art, Schissler Academy of Fine Art and studied with George Coll.  Ruth is a member of the American Impressionistic Society, American Women Artists, and the Artist’s Guild.  Her work is in private and corporate collections in the U.S. and Canada.  In 2013, Ruth's work was included in the Loveland Museum/Gallery TAPP 2-D Project for the Library in Loveland, CO.   Ruth works out of her studio in Loveland, Colorado.
