Discuss: Paypal & sold disconnect?

Submitted by RoxanneSteed at 7/6/2012 9:24:26 AM CST
RoxanneSteed: I just sold a painting from my web-site last night, and only found out this morning by the buyer contacting me via email (a long time collector). I did not receive any notification through paypal that this was sold, nor was the painting marked sold on the site (allowing for selling a painting twice- if this has ever happened to you - you'd realize what a royal pain it can be...and someone ends up disappointed. Any suggestions so I know how to prevent this (or should I go back to selling from my blogspot blog?? )

Thanks!!!

Hi Roxanne,

If a painting is purchased through Paypal, they do send you an email notification that you have received a payment. Try checking your spam folder to see if it is there. They will send it to the email you have registered with them (Paypal).

On your FASO site, since you are the administrator of your site, you do have to go in to your Control Panel and change the availability from "Available" to "Sold".

Thanks Gayle;

I had checked my spam folder already, and it wasn't in there. So I'll contact Paypal to see if there is something amiss. Couldn't figure this one out- as I always get a paypal email alert when something sells. I'll see what I can figure out on that end. Thanks so much for your quick answer.

Well, I contacted Paypal by phone, and they are apparently having a 'glitch in the system' with this (email notifications) and hope to have it fixed within 48 hours! (hope so!!).
