People are starting to make their New Year's resolution list for 2012. As the big day draws near I challenge you to add an art challenge to your list of New Year's resolutions. I have offered three art challenges so for -- one focused on TV addiction, the second with smoking and the last dealt with quality time with family. The next art challenge is another take on a classic New Year's resolution -- that being, the goal of losing weight.
The art challenge: If your goal is to lose weight I challenge you to make art a part of the process. In order to add an art challenge into the mix I would suggest planning walks that involve art. For example, if you live near several art galleries you may want to find out their hours in order to schedule a walk that involves visiting each gallery -- burning calories while viewing art.
Another suggestion -- take a camera with you while jogging or walking so that you can take pictures of interesting things you observe while following your routine. Use those images as a source for sketches or collages. The goal for this art challenge is simple -- break a sweat with art in mind.
Do you have an art challenge in mind for 2012? Feel free to mention it as a comment -- and by all means, if you accept any of the art challenges I have posted so far... let me know.
Take care, Stay true,
Brian Sherwin
