The Artist Says:

Just finished our annual home/ gallery/ studio exhibit Oct. 13th and 14th and would like to thank all the people that made this years show a memorable one.
I sometimes wonder if anyone is out there and always overwhelmed and thankful when our home and studio is crowded with excited people on opening night. Painting for a year and relying on one weekend to see if the paintings sell is a little scary to say the least. Friends always tell me "What are you worried about, you sold almost everything last year didnt you?" That is not much comfort to me because I never take it for granted that the coming year will be as good as the last....even though this was our 36th exhibit. This was the first year i have had a web site and it proved to come in handy when a couple that were out of town for the weekend of my show contacted me through FineArtStudioOnline and asked if they could view the unsold paintings. Of course i was happy to do so. The husband and wife were torn between two paintings and ended up buying both. It is a fine line we walk...but working as a full time artist for 36 years has been more rewarding to me than any occupation that had a "sure thing" paycheck. oddly enough,my penchant for painting in several mediums and styles has not been a detriment to my sales but has been a plus. Most of all it has given me the freedom to challenge myself without being stuck in some popular "recipe" painting that gallery and public often demand.

Upcoming Events and Exhibits

Reception: 10/9/2010 (SATURDAY 6:00 till 9:00 SUNDAY 2:00 till 6:00)

This will mark our 39th exhibit and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again. Some of you have attended every one of our shows and we are so thankful for your steadfast loyalty. For those that are coming for the first time we hope to make you comfortable knowing that you will never be pressured to make a purchase. As far as dress is concerned....some folks come in blue jeans while others choose to dress up a little... it doesn't really matter as long as you feel at home. The back porch is used for light snacks, wine and hot apple cider. The whole house is open with paintings hanging in living room, dining room, library and upstairs bedrooms and of course my studio. I hope to have around 30 original paintings to view plus one room containing giclees and prints. If you have never been to one of our shows we encourage you to send an email or phone call with your name and address so that we may send you a personal invitation. Some people have asked if there is a charge to attend....No, never has and never will. Hopefully the date and times will not conflict with your schedule or travel. See you in October...tom

Wow Tom! You really capture the essence of sinmplistic living. I love your painting Amish Country. You have a real feel for the early 20th century rural life.
