We just thought for fun and giggles we'd add a bit of personality to our email newsletter module - with avatars.

We already pull avatars from a few public sources for our blog comment systems, and it dawned on us that we could use the same functions for the email newsletter area.

The old email newsletter subscriber list looked like this:

And the new email newsletter subscriber list looks like this:

Of course, we can't provide avatars for every subscriber - only the ones who've made their avatars public services such as gravatar.

We also made each avatar "clickable" - that way, if there is more public info about that person, it is available to you.

PS - I almost forgot - we added avatars to the "unsubscribe", "open" and "bounces" reports - it's much more personal to see who is doing what!
