Biography
Melissa "Missy May" Peirano was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from Sewanee with a Math degree, she started her career as an Information Technology professional, painting watercolors as a stress relieving hobby. When Melissa relocated to her hometown after starting her family, she began pursuing painting seriously. The introduction to acrylics initiated the desire to focus on art as a full-time endeavor. Melissa loves creating deeply textured works with a palette knife. Her primary subjects include fruit, flowers, nests and children. Simplicity of the subject matter is a driving factor in her art. She creates interest and excitement by adding unexpected slices of color to create a relationship between the subject and background.
Melissa continues to pursue her artistic dreams full time by painting and running Hanover Gallery with her husband David. She loves representing both local and regional artists and finding the perfect piece for her clients. Melissa says she hopes her happiness with her life and new career are reflected in all of her works.
