The Artist Says:

"I have always enjoyed figurative drawing, painting the figure has been an amazing journey ... a whole new experience. I will continue to focus on figurative painting; working to improve my technique so that I speak clearly, and simply capture moments of beauty, thought, and unity. I hope to leave behind paintings that embody this present moment worthy of study".

Biography

Jacquelyn Bischak is a lifelong artist. She received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree majoring in Life Drawing and Painting. A large portion of her career has been spent working in advertising, most recently at Leo Burnett Co.. She began painting professionally in 1998 and considers it to be her transition from the "World of Advertising" back to the "World of Fine Art".

"I have worked in a number of mediums and genres, but my most cherished is figurative. Learning to paint the human form in oil has been an amazing journey. No other medium is so well suited for capturing human emotion and inspiring the audience. I will continue to focus on figurative painting; working to improve my technique so that I speak clearly, and simply capture moments of beauty, thought, and unity. I hope to leave behind paintings worthy of study".

Jacquelyn admires and studies the dark, realistic and direct style of American artists Frank Duveneck, and Celia Beaux. As well as contemporary artist, Richard Schmid, Glenn Harrington and Jeremy Lipking. She has studied the paintings of the masters in museums, galleries and private collections; which is the primary influence of her unique style of representational art.

Recently, Jacquelyn has won National Awards from master painters Nancy Guzik, Jeremy Lipking, Josh Elliot and fine art critic Clint Watson.
"With superb drawing, edges and values, Jacquelyn creates a sensitivity that stops time." "What a joy, a powerful joy your creations give me!" - Nancy Guzik

Jacquelyn lives on the northern shores of Lake Michigan near Traverse City, with her husband, architect Mark Bischak and their daughter Tatiana. Her studio overlooks the orchards of the Joyfield Valley. Jacquelyn's distinctive paintings are in numerous private collections and she has a ongoing list of Juried Exhibitions, Awards, Gallery and Museum Shows the most recent include:
