In Houston there is so much emphasis on abstract painting that paintings that contain identifiable imagery have fallen out of favor. I was actually told by a design professional that my work was "out of style."
It's important to remember that every opinion is just that--AN opinion. No one person speaks for everyone. There are as almost many diverse tastes and opinion as there are people.
