Into Town by Brian Darcy was selected as a Finalist in the March 2017 BoldBrush Painting Competition.
For over forty years Brian has been passionately portraying the rural Ontario Landscape. Throughout the seasons his work focuses on the natural harmony of living things existing in their own unique environment. Animals living in his work are understated but integral to the life of the painting. Portraying the Ontario countryside and his Yorkshire Dales birthplace, his finely composed paintings show a depth of artistic knowledge. Influenced by artists like Andrew Wyeth, Alex Colville, George Innes and many British landscape painters. His finely executed oils portray the fleeting moment of a naturalist artist.
As an avid gardener he is constantly aware of the design and palette nature provides. Using fine pigments from the earth completes his connection to the land. Finding this a magical time of day, he is constantly seduced into another dramatic and spiritual sunset.
With awards including the Canadian Society of painters in Watercolour, International Art Magazine, his work hangs in private and corporate collections throughout Canada, United States and England.
