Gentleman Itinerant by Robert Silverman was selected as a Finalist in the March 2016 BoldBrush Painting
Bob was born and educated in New York City. He graduated the High School of Music and Art and NYU. He later attended the Cooper Union and graduated after already beginning a career in graphic design. After working in several prestigious design offices and ad agencies, Bob opened a small design studio which he operated for about 20 years. Being a member of several societies and receiving several awards he closed his studio to return to school and study classical painting as he had always wanted to do. Of those awards, one was being included in "the best packaging of the decade."
So, after a year at the art students league, he attended and graduated the New York Academy of Art's MFA program and then a four plus years course of study at The Grand Central Academy in NY.
Now working in his studio for the past five years he has amassed a good quantity of work and received several honorable mentions and been a finalist in many competitions. These include:
Art Renewal International Salon
Oil Painters of America
National Oil and Acrylic Painters of America
Greenhouse Galleries International Salon
The Salmagundi Club of NY
Richardson Gallery Salon
