In closing, I know that many readers have experienced economic hardships over the last several years. Some of you have mentioned that you have taken a second job in addition to a 'day job' -- others have mentioned cutting corners on art materials and studio space. I imagine some readers will be thinking 'But I have not got very far!' when reading the above question. This is what I want to stress: A lot of people DO buy art... I promise you that not all of them purchase it from art galleries. It may pay to remember that when thinking about art marketing and how YOU manage yourself as a business-minded artist. Think about how to approach those buyers. Believe it or not... some of the most 'art hungry' collectors I know have never stepped foot inside a commercial gallery with credit card in hand. They prefer to buy directly from artists. [...]
