To me, "Forsythia and Chickadees" sings like the music of Bach. Kathy has a wonderful play of color harmony. From the sky coming through the Forsythia, to the sunspots on the foreground and her chickadees so beautifully placed, it is a joy to behold. Congratulations!
		2nd Place Award Sponsor: FASO Judge: Nancy Guzik "White Pumpkin with Vines" by Daniel Keys 20" x 16" Oil Judge's Comments: Daniel is taking still life (and pumpkins) to a new level in painting. His colors, edges, and design in this painting are superb. In this wordless language of art, "White Pumpkin with Vines" radiates. It always amazes me the things we can do with paint. Bravo!

Both are different and both are superb. "Sunlit Hill" is one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. Carol's edges, color harmony, the sky, and drawing all work so well that this painting evokes a beauty inside me.

In this high key painting, Carol plays with the green filled light coming into her composition and cat, flooding the room with a harmonious glow - a winner in my heart.
		Finalist Award Sponsor: InformedCollector Judge: Nancy Guzik the recital by Robert Lemler 12" x 9" Oil Judge's Comments: "The Recital" caught me and drew me in, and even now will not let me go. This small sketch gives me the moment, and the feeling of this boy. To me, it seems that Robert knew when he caught it, that magical something, and had the experience and wisdom to stop, so that he could share "The Recital" with me and the world.

She caught the light and atmosphere in this otherwise common scene so well. Her edges and color harmony are breathtaking - and look at that sky color!

"Wrapped In Roses" is also beautifully drawn which gives it that magical something that keeps you engaged.

Marc communicates to me what he saw - beautifully and professionally. His edges, and the placement of spacing - the fencing, bush, and intervals between the trees, help this painting to sing.
		Finalist Award Sponsor: InformedCollector Judge: Nancy Guzik Golden Glow by Ned Mueller 12 x 16 Oil Judge's Comments: Color harmony is very important to me, which is why the yellow of the leaves with the purple of the mountains grabbed me. This painting would not let me go. The more "Golden Glow" took me on it's delightful journey, the more I saw and enjoyed. The ground, the earth-great harmony, the edges, the shadows from the trees, and the fence in the middle ground - all are gorgeous.
