Artist Ray Hunter
Ray Hunter was born and raised in Montana, where he graduated in 1971 with a degree in Art Education from Eastern Montana College (now called Montana State University--Billings.) He lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 15 years before moving to Santa Barbara, California in 1997. He is represented by Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara. He is an artist member of the California Art Club, and his paintings have been included in the Gold Medal Exhibitions several times. He is a signature member of the California Watercolor Association, the Paint America Artists, and the American Society of Marine Artists. He is a member of the Oak Group in Santa Barbara, a group of artists which dedicates work to the preservation of open lands and preserving nature. His work has been shown in numerous local, regional and national shows, and he won the Grand Prize in 2007 in the Paint the Parks competition.
