Biography
Jean Weiner grew up in northern Illinois, loving nature from an early age. Her realistic, detailed, watercolor paintings typically carry a theme of nature and wildlife, something that inspires her and speaks to her heart. She majored in biology while at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982. She went on to receive her Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, in 1985. She worked as a biomedical engineer/operations manager for a medical device company in north suburban Chicago until she and her husband started their family. She considers herself fortunate that she could be a stay home mom with her two children. In 1997 her family relocated to Albany, GA when her husband was promoted with his employer. She enjoyed being an active volunteer in the community, serving as the PTO president for her children’s schools. After a battle with cancer in 2003, Jean picked up her brushes again ending a 25-year hiatus from painting. Her memberships with professional art groups have grown to include the Tallahassee Watercolor Society (Signature Member), the Iowa Watercolor Society (Signature Member), and the Southern Watercolor Society. She currently serves on the board as treasurer for the Southern Watercolor Society. In 2009 Jean’s family relocated to Le Mars, IA when her husband received a corporate engineering position there. She exhibits, competes, and sells her art nationally, and has won numerous awards. She has been commissioned to do a number of paintings for private collections. Jean teaches watercolor classes and also conducts watercolor workshops. Contact her for a course description, supply list, and fee schedule.

"Clint Watson has made it very easy for artists to bring their work to the public.
Obviously the internet is an important marketing component for the artist.
For a luddite like me FASO is the way to go.
There is always a support team available, we get to talk to real people to solve our web site needs.
I don't have the skills or time to develop a website. I should paint not spend time on a computer."
"A website is one of the most valuable tools to market paintings for artists of our time.
I recommend FASO to every artist who is still struggling with all the difficulties in creating and maintaining their website.
FASO is so well designed it will show your paintings professionally while still being extremely user friendly.
I feel bad for all the artists not using FASO yet."
"My art career has really been growing by leaps and bounds since I've been doing more with the website.
So thanks for dragging me into the high tech world kicking and screaming. Now all I need is a secretary"
"Your software is amazing! Thank you.
I just put a new painting onto my web site and it was so easy.
have made the job a piece of cake. Good job."
