Artist David Flitner
David Flitner obtained a degree at the University of Arizona and continued his formal training at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Still drawn to the beauty of the Southwest, he returned to Arizona to make his home and continue his studies in art and of nature's landscapes. One of his Grand Canyon paintings was reproduced in the Arizona Highways magazine and later displayed in the special exhibition of “A Backward Glance at Arizona Highways Illustrators” at the Phippen Museum of Western Art (April, 2000). Though primarily an oil painter, David has created several bronze works, one of which was reproduced in the Southwest Art Magazine calendar. He was the featured artist of the University of Arizona Alumni Art Show in 2002. He enjoys good discussions of art and helping other artists through his assistance with local art league critiques and his teaching of art workshops. His work has been displayed in Phoenix city government and corporate buildings nationally. His work has been found in private estate collections, including those of Burt Reynolds and Ann Miller. David has shown in one-man and multi-artist shows and his artwork has been represented in fine galleries in Scottsdale, Wickenburg, Sedona, Tubac, Monterey, Aspen, Santa Fe, Jackson Hole, and Tucson.
