Artist Claudia Davis
My husband and I travel throughout the west. Painting the landscape and architecture of the locations we visit has become my passion. I enjoy painting "plein air" which means simply painting outside on location. I try to bring the outdoors into my paintings. I want the viewer to stop and experience the location.
I had a career in Marketing before I decided to become an artist. How naive that seems now. Learning to paint is a road of personal growth that is hard to describe, there is so much to learn. After extensive lessons, workshops, dvds, and books, I can say with authority that I have just begun learning this wonderful thing called art. I have studied with many inspiring and notable artists: Kathryn Stats, Louis Escobedo, John Budicin, George Hallmark, and this spring Jill Carver.
I have had many new opportunities and recognition. I show both in Texas and Montana. I show each year in shows at the Hockaday Art Museum and Bigfork Museum of Art and History. I have work in Glacier Gallery in Kalispell, Montana and int the gift shops in both museums mentioned. My paintings are in private collections around the country. I have had the opportunity to do commissions and most notable The Stayton Place in Ft. Worth, Texas. Just recently, Paint the Parks has approved me as one of their artists that support our parks systems. You will find a separate heading "Paint the Parks", all sales result in a 10 percent commission paid directly to support the park in the painting.
My memberships include: Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, and Lake Granbury Art Assoc.
You can call me at 817-291-7611. I am available to do commissions. I price my paintings unframed and include shipping but can frame if you choose.
