I paint primarily in oils - although also in acrylics, gouache and pastels (I am excited about the new open acrylics that have the safety of acrylics but behave like slow drying oils.)  I learned to love nature and rural landscapes at an early age, and it is my passion - I want to capture those brilliant moments that inspire me.  Whether it is on the coast of Maine or rural Europe, the landscape is always speaking to me. Hay bales in the sun, a rocky coast in fog, and of course clouds and more clouds! I paint both plein air and in the studio. Stop by and say hello if you spot my outside painting or visit me in the studio (just call ahead to be sure I am in!)

Over the years I have received major recognition including awards in 2009, 2005 and 2003 at the prestigious Hudson Valley Art Association National Exhibition in New York, of which I am very proud. In 2003, I was invited by the Curator of the State of Vermont for a solo exhibition to help celebrate Howard Dean's tenure as Governor. I had fun being commissioned twice (2003 & 1999) to provide cover art for the Vermont City Marathon. My paintings are included in the book, The Art of Lake Champlain (2009) and I was selected for inclusion in the book 100 Artists of New England by Ashley Rooney (2011).
I received my BA from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts with a minor in Fine Arts. I have had the privilege of studying painting with various national artists including the Plein Air Painters of America and have been a juried member of Oil Painters of America and the Hudson Valley Art Association.
