Artist Bonnie B Anderson
Bonnie Anderson was born in Chicago. Her life as a child fostered a love for music, theater and the arts.
After earning a degree in nursing, marrying and having two children she returned to school to pursue her interest in art. She attended the American Academy of Art, the School of the Art Institute and studied extensively to learn the skills needed to express herself in drawing and painting.
Her love for people and the desire to share her knowledge led her to a teaching career as an artist. She opened her own school and gallery, Studio in the Woods in Wauconda, Illinois, which she owned and operated for 25 years. She has been a member of the Palette and Chisel Academy of Fine Art since 1965 and has had the privilege of serving four terms on their board of directors.
In 1990 she sold her school and gallery and in 1996 moved to Arizona with her husband Bob. During her years in Scottsdale Arizona she was active on the curriculum board of Scottsdale Artist School for seven years. Her work represented in Willow Gallery on Main Street in downtown Scottsdale.
In 2015 Bonnie and Bob relocated to the Charleston S.C. area of to live near children and grandchildren. Bonnie continues her love for painting in her studio at the Ponds of Summerville.
In addition to her awards, commissions and sales, a collection of seven portraits by Bonnie Anderson of the founders and physicians of The Hospice of the Valley hang in their corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona.
